For 2017 we'll be going back to the New Berlin site that we were at last year. It's located in a field adjacent to the city Recycling Center, 3711 S. Casper Dr. If you are using a GPS, your Field Day coordinates are: Lat. 42.976828 Lon. -88.119637.

Jim, KC9RNY will provide his camper and Chuck, W9WLX will provide the radio for the 40/15 station. Thanks, Jim! We hope to get more action on the higher HF bands. Maybe this will be the year for 15 and 10 meters.

Tom, K9BTQ will provide the 75/20 meter station setup as in recent years. This station will be in a pop up camper, the same one used last year.

The “free” VHF station will again be set up by Phil, W9NAW and will operate on 6 and 2 meters. All stations will be powered by generators and batteries.

Food - The lunch Saturday will be a party sub platter from Cousins Subs, potato chips, and soda. It will be available at about 12:30 pm. Dinner Saturday will be Jim White's Chili, hamburgers, chips, soda, and Vicky's famous wheat ranch brownies. Dinner will probably be between 5:30pm to 6:00pm.

The lunch on Sunday will be the left overs from the Saturday dinner. It will be served about 12:30pm. Also, a jug of water will be available on Saturday morning.

Stay tuned — Chuck will be contacting you shortly to find out when you can operate and your availability for setup, teardown, and other miscellaneous activities.

The premise for Field Day this year is to continue to train and develop our QSO party and emergency communications skill set in a comfortable setting. Above all the idea is to have fun while we further hone our abilities. I would like to see all of our participants behind the microphone or key at some time during the weekend.

If you are interested in knowing more about contesting, here’s your chance. It’s challenging and fun (nobody would do it if it weren’t) so get on board! See you there!
